Surgery is scheduled

RJ will have her surgery on Wed. Sept. 26. She will have to stay in the hospital for probably 2 days but may be able to come home before then. Keep her in your prayers!! Will update after surgery.

Trip home to Iowa

What a FABULOUS time we had in Iowa!! Super grandpa drove over from IL, aunt Jeannie came over to grandpa and grandma Hayes' house (no pics unfortunately) Ole uncle Bob was missed ( he wasn't able to make it). And for all of those who said Raquel didn't have hair...HA...you're wrong:). Had a great time and looking forward to coming back at Christmas! Love you all!

Had a BLAST! Saw Aunt Aundrea, cousins Jack and Jake (the hair stylists) and Crazy Momma was so fun! Grandma and Grandpa Hayes borrowed so many toys and a pool so that RJ could show off her swimsuit and splash around in the sun. Ross also drove over to Cedar Rapids to visit Great grandma Zibilich and they had a wonderful time at her new place, ate lots and lots! RJ loves any thing that mommy and daddy eat so she filled up on chicken, sweet potaoes, bread and anything else that she could get her grubby little paws on....good times!

Update on photo contest

Well the idiots at Atlanta Parent magazine did not select Raquel for the cover...What the heck do they know? OBVIOUSLY they don't realize that she is the most photogenic baby of all time!!! We know so I guess that's all the counts! Still waiting to hear when her surgery will be scheduled, will keep you all updated.

Just saying "Hello"

So we still have no word about RJ's surgery but thanks to everyone for keeping us in your thoughts! Just thought you all would like to see how well Raquel is getting around these days...she's FAST!!! She has recently begun standing alone for a short period of time without any assistance so we figure that it won't be long before she is walking by herself-god help us when she does that:) Ross, Raquel and I are getting ready to go back to Des Moines next week so that Dad can ride in Ragbreigh (?) with all the brother-in-laws and I can see some friends and family. We are planning a trip down to Morning Sun,IA to visit with Aunt Dee and Uncle Don and we are also planning a visit with Super Grandpa (he's coming over to DSM) and great Aunt Jeannie and Ol' uncle Bob are going to visit along with the whole Hayes clan (Aundrea is coming down from Sioux City for 4 days) so it should be an exciting time for us all and hopefully Ross won't kill himself on the bike ride:) Would love to hear from you all so please don't hesitate to call!!
